FAQs - Garden Cubes
What can I use the building for?
Your bespoke garden cube has a wide range of possible uses, depending on what your lifestyle demands. Many of our customers have used their garden cube as a work space - from home office, to therapy room and music studio. The choices are endless.
It can also serve as a purely recreational space - perfect for entertaining; for children's activities; for a private gym; or simply to relax peacefully and enjoy your surroundings.
We can provide integral office furniture, shower rooms, cloakrooms, kitchens... whatever it is that you require. These designs are truly bespoke in nature. Just describe what you need and we will design it for you.

Do I need planning permission?
In most cases, no. As the buildings are bespoke and built to your personal specification, we can usually design a building that does not require planning permission. For example, as long as your garden cube is around one metre from your boundary and less than 30 square metres in size, you will not require permission to build. However, if you have a design that does require planning permission, our team will happily take over this side of the project on your behalf.
Can I choose any design?
Yes. As our buildings are bespoke, you can build to the size and internal specification that suits you. There is no limit to the designs that can be incorporated into your gardencube. Doors and windows can be fitted in any position; roofs can be flat or pitched; and the interior can de designed to suit your taste and lifestyle demands.
What are your buildings made of?
Our gardencubes are built using the world's most innovative building products. We build onto a base of reinforced concrete, similar to that used when building houses.
Structural insulated panels (sips) are used to form the walls and roof. Sips form the structure of the building and incorporate the latest insulation technology, having the additional benefit of protection from noise pollution.
The internal finish is smooth, skimmed plaster or birch plywood and we can offer a wide range of floor coverings.
Lighting can be arranged to your personal requirements, both internally and externally and a heater, or climate control system, is installed for your comfort.
We offer a large variety of attractive, contemporary doors and windows. All systems incorporate high levels of security. Windows can be designed in any size or colour, in a number of different finishes, to suit your personal requirements.
Our gardencubes are clad in Western Red Cedar. Cedar is durable, versatile and adaptable and can be relied upon for many, many years.

Are they designed to be used all year?
Absolutely. We build using the most upto date products on
the market. We use high levels of insulation, exceeding that used in most modern day house building. We also offer a fully remote controlled climate control system, to enhance your comfort.

How do they differ from a traditional extension?
Our structures offer the same as a traditional extension in terms of space, comfort and security. However, a traditional extension is more expensive and takes far longer to design and build. Our structures can be attached to your property,
or built as a freestanding structure, detached from the
main residence.

I like the design. Can I have it built attached to my existing property?
Yes, as our product offers the latest in design and build quality, it can be built as an extension. A member of our team would be more than happy to meet you on site to discuss your ideas. We can talk you through the planning stage and produce architects drawings for submission to the relevant planning departments.
What are your lead times?
As our gardencubes are built to your specification, each building is ordered individually following receipt of order.
They can arrive on site in as little as two weeks and take approximately one week to build.
